With the outbreak of the coronavirus worldwide, which has sickened thousands and created panic and uncertainty in our stock market, we are left to question if the effects will extend to the US real estate market, and more specifically to our local Central Oregon real estate market.
Coronavirus Pushes Down Interest Rates
Mortgage Interest Rates have already fallen to new record lows (3.29% as of March 5th) as investors are taking money out of the volatile stock market and putting it into safer US Treasury Bonds. Historically, when bonds are strong, mortgage rates go down.

Bend Premier Real Estate Broker Jack Zika Installed as New COAR President
Bend Premier Broker Jack Zika was installed as the new COAR president at the COAR holiday party on December 13th, 2019. Besides being the new COAR president, Jack serves Oregon as the state representative of District 53 which covers much of Deschutes County, including Redmond. The Central Oregon Association of Realtors is fortunate to have such a influential person serving as president during 2020.

Bend Premier Brokers Participate in 2019 Bocce Ball Tournament
Up for Bocce Ball?
The Bend Premier Real Estate team made up of Lisa Wettstein, Debbie Walsh, Colleen Dillingham and Diane Lozito participated August 22, 2019 in Amerititle's 8th annual Bocce Ball Tournament. Over 48 teams were there representing the real estate industry throughout Central Oregon. Although they didn't win, the Bend Premier "alley cats" had fun and thousands of dollars were raised for Central Oregon charities.
